The Degeneration of the Socialist Delusion in America

Back in the early and later 1960s, it was still easy to believe that the Left and the Socialism of the Liberal Democrats of that time, or some melange of a lot of Socialism with some Capitalism thrown in, could reform society and make America a sort of paradise. Disagreeing with Thomas Jefferson, the Left and Liberal Democrats said Government was a good thing, and not an Evil as Jefferson stated (though perhaps necessary), and, if there were problems, it should and could be reformed until it was honky-dory. Government was like a friendly, helpful neighborhood corner grocer, and if his assistant short-changed you, or sold you moldy bread as being fresh, well, you could have him fired and hire someone else.

That delusion is now breaking down, and we are seeing the degeneration of a society that was probably the most Libertarian and the most orderly that had ever existed, and considering how un-Libertarian and how disorderly America was, it shows you how bad things all over the world were, for centuries and beyond, when you compare.

Because America has followed Socialism for so long, and could run from 1950 until now borrowing money, it was able to buy off the People with both welfare, and the chance to make a fortune for those who were Capitalists. Both sides were content enough not to rebel, although the Principled Capitalists complained about the Income Tax and all the other taxes.

But these deficit-spending years finally led to inflation, and, as we know from Weimar Germany, Ron Paul, and Norman Mailer, inflation wipes out the middle class, leads to social chaos, and the chaos leads to tough talk and Fascism. Inflation brought about Hitler.

This is what is currently  occurring in the United States. Violence is growing; the epidemic use of abysmal drugs like meth and opioids is merely one of the symptoms of this degeneration in America. (A Liberal will drive a young person into poverty, and then, when they take to Meth or Opiods because of the despair generated by Socialist taxation and bureaucracy, the Liberals clamor for more government treatment centers, and more juvenile detention “shelters”, funded with more taxes….making people poorer… etcetera. You have to wonder what they haven’t been smoking.)(As Libertarians, you know, we believe absolutely in the self-ownership of adults, and, if an adult wants to take any drug, and he never violates the Non-Aggression Principle of Libertarianism, he should not be arrested and has violated no law except man-made law. That said, when I ran for Governor of Oregon in 2014, and utilizing environmental laws, I proposed a measure that would, in effect, have arrested I’d guess 99% of the meth users who commit crimes, and for far longer terms. I also proposed an initial legalizing of heroin only for the terminally ill, and would have debated further legalization in the Oregon Legislature. And I was once fascinated to hear Dr. Dean Edel, on his radio medical program, tell of a small class of heroin users who use the same low dose regularly, for years, without ever increasing their dose, and hold down jobs. Kinda like the person who can occasionally smoke a cigarette and not get hooked, while, for the overwhelming majority of tobacco users, they soon have this death’s-head-monkey on their backs all the way into the emphysema of the nursing home.)

Tobacco is for losers, (but who am I to criticize Bertrand Russell and Albert Einstein? Lord Russell once explained that Tobacco usage had actually led to his long old-age, because he was once on a plane flight over Norway that segregated the tobacco addicts in the tail of the plane from the non-smokers in the front. The plane crashed into a fjord with the nose submerged, and the tail in the air. All the passengers in the front were drowned, but Russell managed to escape through a window, swim to shore, and write again.).

This is all somewhat removed from our main point that Socialism leads to Anarchy (i.e. Common Law crimes) which is now leading to Fascism. Trump is a reaction to that Anarchy, and, we judge, probably the least harmful in the long run. There is perhaps none less dangerous to absorb this call for a tough guy to cope with the appalling disorder in America than he, but of course one must never trust these “leaders”. Yet, I can think of ten demagogues in America (mostly Democrats) who would have been far worse and far more dangerous than Mr. Trump. The Democrats have become the Klan in terms of their fanaticism.

But it is the Bipartisans who have destroyed America, the milksop middle, that talk Capitalism but groan when you talk of eliminating the Socialist program or tax loophole that is benefiting their own individual case, while never questioning the basic crime of taxation. (All funding for a Libertarian government could come through excise taxes on imports from foreign countries that violate our Bill of Rights, and contract insurance offered by the government in order to settle contractual disputes decided in government courts. This would preclude individual taxation, which is a crime according to the Declaration of Independence which delineates the Inalienable Rights of the Individual.)

So thank the do-nothing wimps for whom you voted, Governor Jerry Brown and Governor Kate Brown, the Brownshirts whose college and university campuses spew Jew-hatred, while they stay mum. Oregon State University and the California State Universities and Colleges spew racism and violence against Jews comparable to the racism of the old Segregationist South against Black People, before the Kennedy Administration had the huevos to bust their asses. But the Governors Brown, both Democrats, the wimps who don’t speak out against the Hitlerians,  as well as Oregon Democrat Senators Jeff Merkley and Ron Wyden, stay silent and do nothing. Real trash politicians.

Additionally, we are seeing a crime wave of unprecedented proportions in Southern Oregon, where criminals who would have received 5-10 years in jail for Grand Auto Theft in the 1950s in California, are being consistently plea-bargained down to “Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle” and are soon out of jail stealing again. Grants Pass has now become the auto vehicle theft center of Oregon, thanks to Governor Kate Brown’s unwillingness to place them in State Prison for long terms, so that her beloved mega-corporations can continue to pay no income tax, and her beloved 1,195 PERS pensioners can continue to suck their $100,000/yr plus pensions out of the State’s taxpayers. The Oregon State Constitution requires that the first priority of the Government is, to quote, “The peace, safety, and happiness” of the People, i.e. Law Enforcement, but this is being ignored by this immoral Governor, who jeopardises the safety of the Citizenry in order to safe money for her Government and Corporate clients. I have heard from two sources that the State has told the Counties to send 5% less criminals to State Prisons in exchange for more money to those Counties, thus throwing the burden of jailing these criminals onto County property owners who fund the Counties’ jails. The Counties in turn, would rather spend the money on their commissioner’s $90,000 plus salaries in a County where the average income is approximately $20,000 and lower. Another example of how Socialism is wiping out the middle class to finance State bureaucrats. State workers salaries in Oregon often run from between $150,000 to $250,000 plus benefits. They can now do better than successful commodity traders just by showering and showing up for work. As in the Soviet Union, membership in the Party, or now working for the State Government, is a sure ticket to easy street, while the private sector worker, like the minimum wage worker, can barely survive — more fruits of the Democrats’ and Republicans’ Socialism

So between the Meth Heads and the Democrat Politicians, you can see what is wrong with America, and the Libertarian Solutions, which only Congressman Ron Paul and a few Rothbardian-Libertarian economists have ever espoused for the last 35 years, are no longer possible. America is like an old old car battery just on the brink of failing

Welcome to Criminal Anarchy under the Governors Brown and Socialism.

Against Government Pensions: The Early State Constitutions

One of the Socialist Institutions that makes life so miserable for the lower classes in America is the obligation to pay governmental pensions to a vast number of retired citizens, both private and governmental. These pensions ultimately bankrupt the State, which leads to inflation and social chaos. The private citizen pension-recipient is the Social Security Pensioner who worked for a private business or was self-employed. The governmental citizen is the Federal worker, Congressman or other politician, retired military receiving some form of pension, and State or County worker receiving a pension.

All these violate one of the most fundamental principles of the American Revolution, which was enunciated in most State Constitutions. It ran, “That no man, or set of men, are entitled to exclusive or separate emoluments or privileges from the community, but in consideration of public services.”

This “Fathers of the Constitution” Principle clearly bans any “emoluments” going to public servants except as salary. “In consideration of public services” clearly refers to labor done. The retired worker does no labor or “services” for the government or his former employer. Once they retire from service, they should be entitled to nothing further from the public taxpayers.

There is no reason why these people could not set up their own retirement plans with private companies, and certainly a well-run, well-capitalized pension fund could easily be set up by one of our famous “public-spirited” deca-billionaires, or a consortium of such, which would provide a pension system equal, if not better, than the current Federal Social Security system.

I would also not object to a fund set up and administered by the Government, as long as all liabilities, costs, and short-falls would be born solely by the pension fund participants, and not the general taxpayer. But in that case, the Government fund would not differ fundamentally from a private fund, though it would fulfill the patriotic fervor of those on the Left who thing the Government is the greatest invention since The Pill.

In Oregon, a Democrat-Administered State with many poor people and much crime, there are currently at least 1,195 former State workers receiving annual pensions of at least $100,000/year. The Kitzhaber and Brown Administrations have continued to increase the State’s Debt so that it is in the high $80 billions range, equating to a personal debt share of about $28,000 for each of the 3 million Oregon State Residents. Add this to a child’s burden of $160,000 share of the $20billion Federal Debt, and you see that a child born in Oregon already owes the Democrats and Republicans $188,000. No wonder he’s howling at birth! This clearly shows the extreme Injustice that soon flows from Socialist governmental programs, and clearly shows why the Founding Fathers were so adamant about preserving Individual Rights and Liberty, and why they were so wary of governmental power.

They knew that Power Corrupts, and Jefferson had stated that Government was evil, though perhaps necessary, and because Government had Power and Power always Corrupts, it was therefore necessary to keep Government as small as possible, and to set up various checks and balances on the power of Individuals in Government.

Compared to anything else that had gone on before in World History, what the Fathers of The Constitution (and mostly Jefferson) produced was nothing more than the most Libertarian Doctrine that had ever existed since Magna Charta. And unlike the English Bill of Rights of 1689, the Americans declared that these Inalienable Rights applied to All Mankind, not just Englishmen, although the Americans had to take it not too seriously so they could continue with their filthy slave trade — the quintessential antithesis of Libertarianism.

America should return to its Libertarian roots, and get government off the backs of the newborns and the lower-paid workers. They have no responsibility to pay cushy pensions to anybody, and if they feel they have such a responsibility, they are free to exercise it through charities or private companies.

Those who have paid into government pension funds should, of course, have those paid-in funds returned with the accrued interest.

Let’s abolish these immoral contracts that the newborn have no say, power, or vote on. Let’s abolish governmental pensions.

Socialism and Meat-Eating Lead to Fascism

It’s amazing how ignorant the Left is, and how in their complete blindness they have brought about the conditions that lead to Fascism. They are calling the President a Fascist, but they never called Obama a Fascist when he behaved like one, and that is why they now have Trump.

The Left is completely blind to the parallels that exist between Germany in the 1920s under the Social Democrats, who were Socialists very much in the vain of the modern U.S. Democratic Party, and the current drift in American politics. They fail to see that in their coercive overthrow of Jeffersonian property rights (mainly in the form of taxation, but also in heinous assaults against individual rights such as the “shared responsibility” penalty for not buying corporate medical insurance under Obamacare), they laid the groundwork for the Fascists to violate those same rights with impunity.

They also fail to see that the inflation they have caused, by doubling the national debt from under $10billion when Obama took office to almost $20billion when he left, is having the same destabilizing effect on American society as the German inflation had on the Germany of the 1920s. Inflation brought Hitler to power, and inflation has, in large part, helped bring Trump into the White House. But that inflation was seeded by Obama and the bipartisans in Congress. Only the Libertarians have spoken out in opposition.

I noticed, in the two dull Bernie Sanders speeches I wasted my time watching, that there was not one word about the massive spending of the military-industrial complex driving the deficits and inflation, but much talk about “the 1%”. Sanders, in his narrow ideological mind, likes to think a tiny minority of capitalists are responsible for all of society’s ills. But it is really the pea-brain mentality of Leftists and Liberal Democrats like Sanders, who never call out the monumental governmental waste inherent in building useless military hardware which is highly inflationary, who have no inkling of the real problem.

This overthrow of Individual Property Rights inherent in Socialism, combined with the callousness and violence to which widespread meat-eating inevitably leads, has brought Donald Trump into the White House, to the horror of those who saw no horrors (or were blind to them) in Ms. Rodham.

Moreover, the laziness of the Left and the Liberals in understanding Jeffersonianism and Austrian Economics means that fools are creating and enforcing policy, based solely on whether it fits into their preordained list of Liberal causes. Minimum wage law is a perfect example. The minimum wage itself, and constant calls to increase it, have been standard Liberal causes for many years. Yet few Liberals every reflect that minimum wage laws violate the Inalienable Right to Contract. If two people willingly agree to a wage, but the State intervenes and says that such an agreement is illegal, the State has aggressed against the inalienable Rights of the two individuals. And for well-fed, prosperous Liberals and Leftists to tell a man who is completely destitute of money, who is willing to accept a wage he has been offered, and who might even like the work he has been asked to perform, that he cannot work for less than a certain wage seems to me the height of haughty callousness. Minimum wage laws have devastated the lives of millions of poor young Blacks and Latinos, who have effectively been kept out of the workforce by absurdly high minimum wage levels, designed to neutralize labor competition that would lower the level of union wages. The racist unions are exploiting the minimum wage law to crucify Black, Latino, and poor White youth, who have no way of gaining any income except to engage in that primitive form of free-market capitalism known as drug-dealing. And then the Liberals create draconian drug prohibition laws, which enables them to imprison the very same youths they are exploiting through the minimum wage laws.

And Liberals have wholeheartedly support this tyranny for decades.

The Liberals, and anyone else gnashing their teeth over the Trump victory, should remember their own silence in the face of the suffering of all those youths whose lives were ruined because of minimum wage laws, and compulsory attendance laws which forced them to attend the rotten government schools. And the Liberals should remember their silence as the screaming animals they eat were herded into the slaughterhouses, day and night, and they cared not a whit about their suffering and terror.

Because of their indifference to the cause of Jeffersonian Rights adumbrated in the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights, and because of their indifference to the suffering of the animals they butcher by the billions every year, the Liberals — and everyone else — may end up with the Fascism that they have brought about under Obama, but which they always verbally condemn.

The Liberals were mum in the face of Obama’s Fascism, as they cheered and promoted Socialist programs, and stuffed themselves with dead pigs and birds. Now they will face the rule of President Trump.

Ten Little Democrats: A Political Poem Sort Of

Ten Little Democrats going out to dine

One choked to death trying to eat a copy of the Constitution

And then there were nine.

Nine Little Democrats sat up very late November 8

One cried himself to death

And then there were eight.

Eight Little Democrats travelling in Devon

One was told his citizenship had been revoked and he’d been deported

And then there were seven.

Seven Little Democrats chopping up some sticks

But then one was prosecuted for wasting strategic resources necessary for Homeland Security

And then there were six.

Six Little Democrats playing with a hive

A Libertarian Bee stung one

And then there were five.

Five Little Democrats going in for law

Alan Dershowitz sued one

And then there were four.

Four Little Democrats going out to sea

A red-herring-baiting House Un-american Committee Chairman subpoened one

And then there were three.

Three Little Democrats walking in the zoo

A Russian bear hugged one

And then there were two.

Two Little Democrats sitting in the sun

The  climate change frizzled one

And then there was one.

One Little Democrat Left all alone

So he joined the Libertarian Party

And then there were none!

The Women’s March: Why Didn’t They March When…

The Women were out marching on the first full day of Trump’s Presidency.

I wonder why they didn’t march when Obama added $9.3 trillion to our national debt, fueling inflation in necessities like food, rents, gas, and insurance, and driving tens of millions into poverty, thus vastly increasing the crime rate.

I wonder why they didn’t march when Obama proposed, early in his administration, that indefinite detention without trial be implemented in America, completely overthrowing the Jeffersonian concept of Individual Rights, and a speedy trial before a jury of one’s peers for anyone arrested and charged with a crime. For this proposal alone Obama deserved to be Impeached.

I wonder why they  didn’t march when Obama murdered hundreds of innocent civilians along with a few guilty terrorists with his countless drone attacks, thus creating a whole new crop of jihadists who use footage of those murdered women and children to recruit fresh terrorists. The Immorality of these Murders was never questioned by “The Women”.

I wonder why they didn’t march when Obama enabled Iran to get nuclear weapons within ten years. Perhaps they and their children are not the ones who will live terrorized, in constant fear of nuclear attack from a regime that stones women to death and hangs 15-year old children for being gay or sexually promiscuous.

I wonder why they didn’t march when Black Americans were gunned down by the police every few days in America, and Obama did nothing to Federally intervene and prosecute the crimes. Compare his passivity to the vigorous action taken by John and Robert Kennedy who went after the segregationists, and busted open the Southern Universities to Black students.

I wonder why they didn’t march when Obama forced every American to do business with the huge corporate insurance companies under Obamacare, or be forced to pay a huge cash penalty. This heinous overthrow of Individual Jeffersonian Rights — inalienable Rights which no man or government may overthrow — institutionalized economic Fascism in America, Fascism being a union of Government and Big Corporations against the Individual.

I wonder why they didn’t march when the Obama Administration helped overthrow an elected government in the Ukraine, and, by participating in the insane build-up of armaments near the Russian border with the NATO Warmongers, helped to bring the world closer to a U.S-Russian nuclear war than it has been since the Cuban Missile Crisis, according to Princeton Professor and Russian scholar Stephen Cohen. I wonder how these Women would feel if Russia was placing nuclear missiles and masses of conventional weapons in Northern Mexico, or if a flotilla of Chinese battleships were off the coast of California, just outside U.S. territorial waters. These women don’t seem to mind dishing out terror to people all over the world, as long as it doesn’t get near them.

I wonder why they didn’t march when Obama continued to persecute tens of thousands of Americans suffering from conditions which medical cannabis could have alleviated. These people sat in pain and terror while Obama played golf and smoked his tobacco cigarettes. Where were these Women when those other women and children, like Shauna Banda and her son, were harassed and prosecuted by their Fascist State Governments (like Kansas) for using cannabis for their medical diseases? The Women didn’t seem to give a damn about those women’s suffering, unlike the Libertarian Party and Ron Paul, who relentlessly hammered away at the Fascistic overthrow of Jeffersonian Inalienable Rights which the Democrats and Republicans had supported for 80 years. But Obama didn’t have the huevos to stand up for Jeffersonian Rights and propose Federal legalization of cannabis. What a wimp!

And I wonder why they didn’t march when the Clinton Foundation took up to $25million from Saudi Arabia, a dictatorship which treats women abominably. Or when Hillary Clinton took Huma Abedin as an advisor, a woman who is an associate editor of a publication which promotes Sharia Law. The hypocrisy of these Women demonstrators, who never once attacked Hillary Clinton on her Saudi Arabian Collaboration, stinks of Fascism.

In short, the Women never marched when Obama and Hillary committed crime after crime, but they marched when someone they couldn’t control finally got into office.

Obama’s Fascism brought on the Presidency of Donald Trump, but the Women were silent in the face of that Fascism. Now they will face the consequences of that silence.

Trump Should Nominate Ron Paul for Federal Reserve Chairman

President-elect Trump now has the opportunity to change the economic course of Mankind radically for the better, in a way that has never before been possible in Human history. He has merely to nominate Ron Paul for the Chairmanship of the Federal Reserve and with this one action he would inject a dose of pure Capitalism into a sick Socialist world, and inject Austrian School Economics, which really is the only truthful view of economics, into the world discussions on economics.

The reason that Ron Paul is the logical pick is because has been studying Austrian Economics for decades, served on the government’s Gold Commission, and was for many years a friend of Professor Murray Rothbard, the last in the modern Austrian triumvirate of Mises, Hayek, and Rothbard.  Ron Paul clearly understands Austrian Economics, and has written several books on it — the economics of pure Capitalism and also the Economics that naturally comes to all Mankind through his native intelligence and logical thought. Marginal utility theory, for example, should be self-evident to anyone who has ever had a surfeit of something which is valuable to all, and valuable to the individual who owns it, but not in the quantities that he possesses. The corn farmer may be pleased with the fact that he has 100 lbs. of good corn for his own use, but he does not need, and could not use, the next 5,000 bushels of corn he has harvested. Before it rots, he’d rather trade that marginal surplus of corn for cash or other commodities that he needs, like the part for his car without which he would have to hike five miles to town for his other commodities, and carry them on his back.

Austrian Economics reflects the psychology of economic relations between Human Beings which has existed since time immemorial. You might even call it “The Universal Psychology of Human Economic Interactions”. The great delight of the London wealthy in the 1500’s under Elizabeth and Henry Tudor was — shopping, and when the Royal Exchange opened up, with its two floors of kiosks selling every consumer staple, and where the wealthy could walk out of the mud and rain, and keep their shopping more private, those aristocrats and wealthy merchants went wild. Not much different than Black Friday in its psychology, with nowadays consumers clamoring for iphones and xboxes instead of wigs, gloves, and shoes. The economic psychology of the Human Being is universal for both time and place, and cuts across all cultures and ethnic groups, positing another refutation of racist theory.

With this one action of nominating Ron Paul, President Trump can double the impact of this revolutionary turn of government which the voters have initiated, if indeed it turns out to be revolutionary. We remain skeptical, but we would believe far more that a revolutionary or radical change has been brought into office with the election of Trump if he were to put the icing on the cake by nominating Ron Paul. This would clearly indicate Trump’s bona fides far more than his words.

I would urge my readers to contact the President-elect and urge him to nominate Ron Paul for Fed Chief, which would go much farther in restoring the Republic than even the election of Mr. Trump may do. America needs to have intelligent Libertarians at the head of the Fed, instead of confused Keynesians, whose economic theories have failed again and again.

Ron Paul for Fed Chief!

Trump’s Election: America Escapes the Guillotine

Whew! that was a close one. Jefferson just managed to avoid a haircut from Madame Guillotine, America still has its Republic, and Madame Robespierre is in retirement for good.

And thank goodness for the Electoral College!

Not that this is manna from heaven, or even the start of something positive, but it is at least a possible ending to the Corporatist Fascism that Clinton, Obama, and the Democrats have been pushing on the country for eight years. I wouldn’t hold out great hope for Trump to avoid this style of Corporatism that was so championed by Mussolini (which is why we accurately label it Fascism). That is still to be seen in the future. I think the chances are 30% that Trump will be a huge change in government function, along the lines of reform that Ron Paul has long called for, and a 70% that his administration will be a lukewarm form of Bush-ism, with some minor or major changes.

But the important point about the election was that it was not Clinton who got elected — the candidate who had been pushed by the Party, the media, and the Liberals who conveniently overlooked the entire Fascist stink of her activities with Islamo-Fascist countries in the Middle East, as well as the piles and piles of other conflicts of interest, and her enabling of Bill Clinton’s alleged sexual predatoriness. The fact that Democrats ignored all that, along with their ignoring of Obama’s Fascist proposals, like Indefinite Detention without Trial, and the TSA nude photographing of all our citizens, along with the Obamacare forcing of people to do business with private corporations — all these show how rotten and corrupt are the Liberal Democrats of the Democratic Party.

If America had elected someone as corrupt as Clinton, almost in the style of the old Latin American Dictators, then it would have been a very sad commentary on the level of Libertarian understanding of the American People. The fact that they rejected both her and all the propaganda flak that was thrown up by her surrogates to shoot down the Trump plane shows that the American Public was much smarter than the media and the Party Politicians thought. They couldn’t fool all the people all of the time.

The Liberals are crying because we may have avoided a nuclear war with Russia. They are crying because they may not get their destruction of Israel by an Iranian nuclear weapon in the hands of a fanatical Theocracy, and they are crying because the people have rejected the call to sell their fellow citizens into poverty through forcing them to pay Obamacare premiums to corporations.

The People grew sick of the inflation and poverty through which the Democrats were destroying the Middle Class, and entrenching the Lower Class into a poverty they will never get out of, no matter how many jobs they work.

And the People saw how bigoted and biased were the mainstream media, as unified and uncritical in their comments as was Pravda and the “free press” of the Soviet Union. They saw how the polls were designed to depress them, and keep turnout down for Trump. And they chose to give the finger to those mainstream media, and listen to the alternative media who were exactly correct. The only polls to get it right or close were Investors Business Daily, the LA Times/USC, and Rasmussen Reports. All the Liberal media were way wrong in their polls, and dead sure they were right. Go back and watch Amy Walter of the Cook Political Report on the PBS Newshour to see how certain all the “experts” were that Hillary Clinton was just going to waltz into office. Or watch the constant PBS Trump-bashing sessions of Mark Shields and David Brooks. Or the constant bringing on of New York Times and Washington Post reporters, posing as experts, to brainwash the public into their government-directed opinions. PBS Newshour was disgraceful in the slanted way it constantly attacked and focused on Trump, showing why government-funded news stations, like PBS or the BBC, should never be tolerated by the public. They can never be objective. They are worthless.

Let us hope that Donald Trump will goad government more in the direction of Ron Paul than any President in recent memory. While it is unlikely, it seems like it just might be possible under an unpredictable Capitalist like Donald Trump.

Jefferson on the Gallows: The Republic on the Brink

Jefferson stands on the gallows, and the Republic is on the brink of existing no more.paul 19

Jefferson’s Dream, of a Republic with Individual Rights above all else, with the Rights of Life, Liberty, and Property instrumental to the Pursuit of Happiness, championed by the Government, and with a steel wall separating church and state, so that no hated Theocracy could ever be established, with No Monarchy, and no Aristocrats, Nobilities, or wealthy Landed Gentry controlling the Government — that Dream hangs in the balance next week. Will we move towards a society of Individual responsibility and effort, or continue in the mire of more and more socialist programs creating inflation, further destroying the middle class and entrenching the poor in their poverty?

This election is really a choice between some degree of Individual Liberty, or none at all. Socialism and Military spending have so destroyed the pro-Capitalist society that could have been, if they had been kept at bay in the 1930s, that we are left with a very fragile society, finally on the brink of cutting all ties with the Libertarian, Capitalist, Minarchist Minimal Government outlook of Thomas Jefferson, and many of the more Libertarian Founding Fathers.

Frederick Hayek brilliantly explained, in his Masterpiece “The Road to Serfdom”, how both Fascism and Communism or Socialism, ultimately lead to a totalitarian society, with economic chaos, and the most mediocre bureaucrats rising to the very top of Government, and that is precisely what has happened to the United States. 80 years of Social Welfare programs and Federal Reserve inflation, and unnecessary military spending, have led to a situation where 7 out of 10 Americans have less than $1,000 in cash assets. Compare this to the salaries of corporate lawyers, financial house workers, government bureaucrats, and the military top brass, and you can see the vast discrepancy in wealth that Jefferson would have railed at. And it has all come about because of Socialism, and Fascism, which Mussolini defined as Corporatism, the blending of the State with the large Industrial Corporations, and the Workers Unions in those Corporations. These three institutions destroy any small Capitalist and anyone trying to work outside of that Fascist structure. Instead of a Nation of Shopkeepers, as Capitalist England was known as, you get Hillary Clinton’s Socialist, Corporatist hodgepodge, completely stifling the Individual and the small Capitalist.

America, and Jefferson’s Dream, are on the gallows, and America’s Voters must deliver a reprieve in this final hour, and not let the spirit of Totalitarianism, and Corporate Fascism, take over his and our beautiful Republic, a Republic based on democratic elections to choose its Representatives, and with Congress and the Courts serving as a check on any lunatic wanting to establish an Imperial Presidency, like a Nixon or an Obama or a Clinton.

On November 8th, give a finger to the Fascists and the Communists, the enemies of Classical Liberalism or Libertarianism, the doctrine that a person makes their own destiny, and should be free to act in any manner they wish, as long as they do not assault the Property Rights and Person of any other. Vote for the Person closest to that Libertarian ideal who has a chance to win. The Republic is too sick for you to vote for Candidates who have no chance of winning, a position I have never taken in the past, having agreed with Spooner and the Libertarians that no election is decided by one vote. But now, with $20 trillion in debt, and a candidate who wants to go fisticuffs with the Ruskies, and who has guaranteed in ten years that a Fascist Theocracy in the Middle East will have a nuclear weapon, we must vote not only to elect the greatly-lesser of two evils, the more Capitalistic Candidate, but also vote to show a popular opposition to the Fascist Candidate, should she win.

On November 8th, save Jefferson from the Gallows, and give the Finger to the Fascists!

Trump’s Term Limit Proposal Would Have Shut Up Ron Paul

Today, in Gettysburg, Donald Trump proposed term limits on Congressmen. This anti-democratic proposal, which denies to voters the right to choose whomever they want for Congressmen in the House of Representatives, is obviously an anti-Libertarian proposal, although many so-called Libertarians seem to advocate it.paul 19

Term limits clearly violate the Right to choose our Congressmen. But more damningly, term limits mean that if any very effective or wildly popular Libertarian Congressman were to arise, they’d quickly be thrown out of the political arena, probably to be replaced by one of the hundreds of mediocre bipartisan Congressmen who infest the halls of Congress.

A clear example of the damage that could be done by Congressional Term Limits is that of Congressman Ron Paul, who served 12 terms in the House of Representatives, where his Libertarian voice was heard for many years speaking sanely on many of the important political issues of those times. Term limits, such as Trump is proposing, would have gagged Ron Paul, and had a severely deleterious influence on the propagation of Libertarian-Jeffersonian principles of government to the People. Ron Paul is a clear example of that rare Congressman whose ideas have an influence far beyond that on their local electors. In Dr. Paul’s case, his experience in Congress was a springboard for his three Presidential runs, which inserted Libertarian ideas and arguments into the American body politic in a way that no Congressman limited to two terms could have ever done. Indeed, Dr. Paul is still regularly sought out on major media sites for his opinions, as anyone searching his name on Youtube will see instantly. This very original and iconoclastic thinker would have been shut up if Donald Trump’s term limit proposal were the law of the land.

Ironically, Ron Paul has also advocated for Congressional term limits. Apparently he himself does not see the danger such an anti-democratic proposal would have on the Republic.

In my view, there should not be term limits on any elected political offices in America, save for the Presidency. And the Presidency is too powerful an office not to apply a term limit to. Unfortunately it seems that Presidential term limits have been overridden by Presidents having their children or spouses run for office, creating family dynasties which Jefferson railed against when he spoke about the landed gentry ruling the country through dynasties (and restricting voting to only those who had a large amount of property). America has had the Bush dynasty, and now, tragically, we may have a Clinton dynasty, Heaven forfend, or, if Trump  is elected, a future Trump dynasty. The idea that only certain families are competent to serve in the White House should be voted against, and this is a very strong argument for voting against Hillary Clinton, just as it would have been if Jeb Bush had been nominated.

If a majority of voters in a Congressional district vote to elect the same person over and over, that is their Inalienable Right. The solution of term limits, because almost all the members of the House of Representatives as mediocre bipartisans, should not be resorted to out of practicality because it precludes the possibility that some really radical, revolutionary Congressman like Ron Paul could ever have a huge impact on national political thought, while at the same time it violates the Right of the voters to choose whomever they please.

So, as Libertarians, let us vigorously oppose term limits for Congressmen, but retain them for the Presidency.

Oregon Measures 94 to 100 2016 Election: My Recommendations

My recommendations, as a self-styled Libertarian, on Oregon’s 2016 Ballot Measures, are as follows:

Measure 94, which amends the Oregon Constitution, and removes the mandatory retirement age of 75 for judges, obviously deserves a “yes” vote. The idea that judges at 75 suddenly become incompetent to rule on cases is absurd. Indeed, jurisprudence is something that probably improves with age, as the judge is exposed to more and more cases. Moreover, there are already ways of removing any judge who suddenly goes “gaga”.

Measure 95 is a vile, heinous measure that would tie the financial health of government universities to the performance of the stock market. Here is another measure designed to give government backing to the price levels of stocks, i.e. private corporations. One can see the damage such cozenage has done to the Japanese economy, where the central bank has been buying stocks for years. Obviously, government entities buying stocks ties an entire nation’s economy to the fortunes of the stock market, and gives another “too big to fail” reason for the Federal Reserve to print more money to “bail out” the stock market, while it dilutes your purchasing power and makes you poorer. Indeed, the Federal Reserve is already preparing the public for such a massive theft by talking about the necessity of buying “securities” — ironically the most insecure investment there is besides buying a government lottery ticket. This measure is designed to defeat the “separation of government and private business”, which has already been defeated at the Federal level. Libertarians believe in separation of business and state, just as we must have separation of church and state, and separation of education and state. The failure to maintain such separations is a major reason for the steady decline of America as a civilization. Vote “no” on measure 95.

I oppose Measure 96, which would earmark 1.5% of lottery earnings for veterans services. While this may be a worthy use of the money, I oppose it for two reasons. Firstly, because I strongly oppose the lottery itself, which puts the State in the position of promoting vice, and destroying the financial well-being of its citizens. So any good-sounding reason for the lottery merely increases its attractiveness to the public. Secondly, the military and veterans affairs are provinces of the Federal Government, not of the State, and any aid to veterans should come out of the Veterans Administration and Federal Funds, not State funds. Any money the lottery players of Oregon save the Federal Government will quickly be absorbed by the next billion-dollar stealth plane the Pentagon builds. So vote No on 96.

Measure 97, the supposed tax on corporations in Oregon, has been well-exposed as another scheme to transfer monies from poor Oregon consumers to the wealthy, well-fed retirees of the Oregon State Pension boondoggle, PERS. Currently there are at least 1,195 PERS recipients receiving at least $100,000/yr as a pension. One receives $55,000/month, and four years ago I counted 12 that were receiving over $212,000/yr. Any funds looted from the public through increased costs for corporate services will surely go into these bloated, immoral pensions, which well illustrate the legalized theft possible under socialist governments like Oregon has had under Governors Kitzhaber and Brown. Vote “No” on 97, unless you believe in robbing the poor to maintain the cushy lifestyles of wealthy retired State bureaucrats.

(Note that in 2014, when I ran for Governor, I proposed a corporate income tax while eliminating the personal income tax. My tax would have begun at 1% for corporations with profits of $10-$100million, rising slowly from $100million to $1billion. Corporations making $1billion or more would have paid 8%, which is the current personal income tax rate on individuals making $30,000.)

Measure 98 is another ripoff you should definitely vote “No” on. It provides $800 per high school student to prevent and discourage drop-outs. The Government schools in Oregon are so lousy that many teens can’t wait to get out from under this royal wasting of the time of their youth. If the schools were really interesting, and had anything truly relevant to a youth’s life, there would be no “drop-out” problem. But children, who can’t vote, are the easiest group to exploit in our society, and the huge bureaucracies that make a fortune running the Oregon School system are not about to lose all that filthy lucre by having their victims drop out of it. Therefore they say let’s throw more money at the problem that their own existence has created. Government schools are a curse on children, and we should vote against any continuance or further financial aid to them.

Measure 99 is another one that indirectly promotes the State lottery and sends yet more private sector funds to the rotten government schools. It would give 4% of lottery funds to provide “outdoor schools” for 5th and 6th graders. (And one must wonder about the logic behind this measure since the weather for outdoor classes is most inclement during the Oregon school year.) Just like Measure 96, it encourages people to play the lottery for what seems like a good cause. I wonder how many children have been left parentless because the Oregon Lottery caused their parents to become financially destitute and commit suicide. The Lottery, besides being Immoral and outside the sphere of Jeffersonian Government, financially destroys the lives of countless people, whose tragic stories never become public. Let’s rid ourselves of this outrage known as the Oregon Lottery.

Measure 100 is an obvious “yes” vote if you consider yourself an “Enviro-Libertarian” as I do. While the measure is flawed, it is basically an anti-hunting measure, and I oppose hunting in all its forms as legalized animal torture.

So in summary here are my recommendations on Oregon State Measures: 94-Yes, 95-No, 96-No, 97-No, 98-No, 99-No, 100-Yes.
